I picked up my K-5 on the 1st November and it is now time for some conclusions.
我11月1日拿到K5到现在，是时候该分享点什么了。
This summer, as I was taking more and more photos of sport events, I finally took the plunge and bought a Nikon D700 and D3s with AFS 24-70/2.8 and AFS 70-200/2.8 VR2. These cameras, especially the D3s, do not play in the same league as the K-5, but beside the K-7, they are my only point of comparison.
今夏，我接手越来越多的运动拍摄任务，我购买了Nikon D700和D3S，同时入手AFS 24－70 /2.8和AFS 70-200/2.8 VR2这俩镜头。这俩机器，尤其是3Ds，K5达不到这一级别的，但是相比于K7，这样可好有个纵向的比较。
In October, I went to Uganda and needed a camera with high iso capabilities, as the K-5 was not available at that time, I took the Nikon equipment in addition to a K-7 with DA*300. Another reason for taking both systems is to be able to compare the performance in the fields of both systems.
十月份我去了乌干达，正好需要一个高感较强的机器，但是K5却没有到手。只好带着Nikon的设备同时还有陪着DA*300的K7，另一个语言就是正好对比下这俩大系统。
Travelling with two systems is not ideal, additional weight for chargers and batteries, swapping lens involving swapping body as well, not ideal. I came to the conclusions that further trips will be done with only one system. When I came home, I was nearly ready to leave Pentax for Nikon. The main thing refraining me from switching to Nikon was that for wildlife photography, the Nikon equipment does neither offer what I want nor offer something within budget and weight (200-400 or 300/2.8).(there is no 200/2.8, but a much heavier 200/2, the 300/4 is neither weather sealed nor stabilized) Thankfully, the first user feedback having received the K-5 looked promising. I decided to get a K-5 and check it out. It may not reach the performance of the D3s, but be good enough for most of my photography.
外出带两套设备并不是个好主意，电池充电器，镜头等等会增加不少的负重。因此个人强烈推荐出行待一套机器即可。当我回家的时候，我差点因为Nikon而彻底放弃Pentax。使我作出这样决定的主要原因源于野外拍摄时，Nikon系列不仅不能提供我需要的镜头（不仅没有200/2.8，却有个更沉的200/2,300/4不密封不稳定）更不能减轻负重（200-400或是300/2.8）。幸好，已经有K5使用者给出了不错的反馈。于是我决定搞起K5以作验证。也许这机器达不到D3S的性能，但是应该满足我的日常拍摄需要了。
Well, as said, I received that K-5 on the 1st November and after nearly 1000, time to take time to come to the conclusions.
在11月1日搞起K5用到现在，发表点我的看法。
AF
对焦
The autofocus of the K-5 has been greatly improved compared to the K-7. The raw speed when using SDM lenses did not change, but there is much less hunting in low light. The raw speed with traditional AF lenses improved as well, making lenses such as the FA*85/1.4 fast enough to follow running people.
比起K7，K5的自动对焦能力上了一个台阶。用SDM镜头时RAW速度基本没变，但是在暗光下的拉风箱减少了很多。在普通AF镜头上RAW改进了不少，比如FA*85/1.4的对焦都可以跟上流动的人群。
That said, the AF is still behind the Nikon system. There is especially one thing I am missing from the Nikon system, it is the focus tracking with lock-on.
但是不得不说，AF还是不及Nikon的。特别说一下就是Nikon的移动焦点锁定，差点给忘了。
For sports photography, I will stay with the D3s/D700 combo, but for the other applications, the AF of the K-5 is good enough for me.
就运动摄影而言，我更喜欢D3s/D700这种组合，但是K5在其他素材拍摄上已经都能满足我的需求了。

I am happy to find again the great colour rendition and richness of the Pentax DSLRs until the K10D before they changed to the Samsung sensor. The enhanced DR is really helpful to get back details in the darker area of the frame without getting just noise (like it was the case with the K-7).
我非常欣慰的发现，自从Pentax K10D之后换了三星的传感器，在颜色表现以及饱和度上要大大的改进。增强型DR在对暗处细节保留上起到了很大的作用，而不是像K7一般噪点严重。
In regards of noise, the K-5 is a great enhancement to the K-7. The K-5 is still around a stop behind the D700 and even more compared to the D3s, but it is a great performance for an APS-C camera.
在控制噪点方面，K5较之K7有个巨大的提升。此项性能依然落后D700，更别提D3S了，但是不得不说这在ASP-C机器上已经表现相对不错了。
In regards of white balance, the K-5 gives a little cold balance by default, but I prefer that compared to the yellow cast of the D700/D3s.
在白平衡方面看来，K5在默认WB下还是稍稍偏冷，但是比起D700/D3s的偏黄来说，我更喜欢K5的WB。
Exposure metering

The K-5 does, like all Pentax DSLRs, prefer to underexpose a little bit, while the Nikon's do prefer to overexpose. Apart from this difference, I find the exposure metering of the K-5 a bit more accurate and consistent than the one of the K-7.
K5和以往的Pentax机器一样，多少会出现一点曝光不足，而Nikon却更倾向于有点过曝。除了这点不同，我发现K5的曝光比K7更加准确一致。
In tricky situations, for example a bright red flower in front of a dark background, the metering of the K-5 is fooled as well as the one of the D3s. In such situations, I need to check the histograms by channels to make sure none is clipped. D3s and K-5 are pretty similar in such situations. The D700 shows its age in this regards, it is fooled, but needs much more exposure correction to avoid clipping.
在特殊光环境下，比如在黑暗背景中一朵大红的花，K5和D3s一样都会测光不准。此时我需要通过柱状图通道来保证不会曝光不足。D3s和K5在此种情况下很是相似，D700太过老化了，需要更多的手动矫正才能正常出片。
Handling
操作
The base K-5, as the K-7, is a bit too small for my hands, especially when using larger lenses. The grip does greatly improve the handling. In regards of weight, the K-5/K-7 do win over the Nikon.
K5和K7对我的手来说都小了点，尤其是用大镜头时更为明显。手柄的使用大大改进了操作性。在重量方面，K5/K7完胜Nikon。
In regards of menus, the menus of the K-5 has been slightly changed compared to the K-7, but I quickly found all I wanted. Comparing the menus of the K-5/K-7 and D700/D3s is unfair as I am much more used to the Pentax menus. I am still terribly lost in the menus of the D700/D3s. Some choices of Nikon do not look logical to me.
在菜单操作上，K5的菜单比起K7来说稍稍有些改变，但是我基本上很快就上手了。对比K5/K7和D700/D3s，我更习惯Pentax的菜单。我现在还是在D700/D3s的菜单寻找上表示很无力。很多Nikon的菜单设置对我来说很不合理。
The manual setting of the WB is a major plus on Pentax. You take a photo, go into the menu and go either through the presets, or go manually and change the values while seeing the result immediately on the back LCD screen. On Nikon, it is just a matter of trial and error, you take a photo, check the result, change the setting and start again until you have the right settings.
Pentax的手动白平衡是个大大的加分项。当你拍完照片，进入菜单就可以选择预设的各种白平衡选项，也可以选择手动进行曲线调整，这些调整都是可以实时预览的。但是Nikon就是个杯具，只能拍完后检查见过，换个配置再拍照直到找到正确的设置。
Conclusions
结论
K-5
Well, this K-5 is a great improvement over the K-7, especially in color rendition, AF and high iso capabilities. While it does not reach the levels of the D3s, it is good enough for most of my photographic purposes. The advantage of size and weight compared to Nikon does make it my main camera.
K5比起K7有了很大的改进，尤其在色彩解析，自动对焦以及高感表现上。虽说还未达到D3s的标准，但是已经足够应付我的日常拍摄需求。在重量和大小上的优势使我毫不犹豫选择Pentax当我的主相机。
D3s
The AF system is, especially with the AFS70-200/2.8, a very fast performer coupled with a frame rate of 9 images/sec and a buffer of over 40 RAW files, the ideal camera for serious sports photography. It will remain my main camera for sports photography (but will try the K-5 on an indoor sports event in one week).
D3s的对焦系统，尤其是和AFS70－200/2.8搭配时，能够达到9张每秒甚至缓存超过40张RAW文件的高速连拍效果，这是大型运动摄影必备的利器。这就是它成为我拍运动题材的主相机的理由（不过最近一周我会用K5尝试室内运动拍摄）。
The Nikon does also offer a huge variety of lenses, but then, Nikon really draws a large line to clearly separate the "amateur" lenses from the "pro" lenses. Weather sealing and image stabilizer are reserved for pro lenses.
Nikon更是提供了大量的镜头群可供选择，并且为业余爱好者和专业人士都提供了一整套清晰完整的镜头发展脉络。高密封性和防抖特性将是为专业镜头准备的。
